Golden Valley man was sentenced after headbutting a man at a Minneapolis bar.

MINNEAPOLIS — A Golden Valley man was sentenced to 100 months in prison Monday — or just over eight years — for fatally head butting a man at a Minneapolis bar in July of 2019.

Kravchuk was convicted in a Hennepin County jury trial of unintentional second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter in the death of Aleksandre Sambelashvili.

"The brazen, violent and ultimately fatal action committed by Mr. Kravchuk resulted in the death of an innocent man," Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman stated.

"The jury found the defendant guilty of all counts, and he will be sentenced accordingly. The time he will serve in prison does not bring back the life of the victim, and certainly does not make the loss his family and friends are suffering go away either. My thoughts go out to them during this time."

Video from inside the bar on July 28 showed Kravchuk ramming his head into Sambelashvili's face, investigators said. Sambelashvili died from his injuries on Aug. 23, 2019.
