15-Year-Old Shot In South Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS — A 15-year-old boy is fighting for his life after he was shot in south Minneapolis Tuesday night.

Multiple 911 calls came in at 6:47 p.m, reporting the shooting at the corner of 40th Street East and Columbus Avenue South.

The teen was transported to Hennepin Healthcare and required surgery, according to a news release.

There was a football game going on at the nearby park, but the shooting was unrelated, police told the Star Tribune.

At least 30 people under 18 have been shot in Minneapolis so far this year, according to a Star Tribune database.
