2 North Dakota University Students Die In Minnesota Crash
Two North Dakota State University students died Saturday after the vehicle they were in slid into a guard rail on Interstate 94.
Two North Dakota State University students died Saturday after the Chevy Cobalt they were traveling in on westbound Interstate 94 lost control and slid into the guard rail in the median. The fatal crash occurred at 10:05 p.m. on I-94 in Glyndon Township, Clay County, Minnesota.
The driver, Danie Leigh Thomssen, 18, of Fargo, died in the crash. Carson Dennis Roney, 19, of Oakes, North Dakota, died as a passenger in the vehicle.
Passenger Haley Lynn Visto, 18, also of Oakes, suffered non-life threatening injuries and was hospitalized at Sanford Health.

"The NDSU community is deeply saddened by the loss of Danie Thomssen and Carson Roney," the university said on Facebook. "We extend our sincere condolences to their families, classmates and friends."
The Minnesota State Patrol was assisted by Clay County Sheriff's Department.
