2-Year-Old Shot In Face At Minneapolis Home

The shooting happened early Monday morning on the 1500 block of Lasalle Avenue.

MINNEAPOLIS — A 2-year-old boy is fighting for his life after he was shot in the face in Minneapolis early Monday morning.

Just after 4:30 a.m., Minneapolis police officers from the first precinct responded to the report of a child bleeding from his face at a home on the 1500 block of Lasalle Avenue.

The child was staying with a family member who is not their parent when the shooting happened, police said. Officers were given "limited information as to how the gunshot wound occurred."

The child was hospitalized in "critical but stable condition."

No arrests have been made. Forensic scientists from the Minneapolis Police Department processed the scene and collected evidence.
