3 Teens Killed After Driver Flees, Crashes In Minneapolis
Teens ages 13, 15 and 16 were killed in a single-vehicle crash involving a stolen car.
MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Authorities have identified the three teens who died after a stolen car being chased by police crashed in Minneapolis.
Cortez Antonio Jr. Williams, 13, of Minneapolis, Jamontae Welch, 15, of Minneapolis, and Demetrius Devell Jr. Dobbins, 16, of Brooklyn Park died of "multiple blunt force injuries" in the single-vehicle crash, authorities said.
Just after 1:40 a.m. Monday, officers noticed a car on Dowling Avenue and Logan Avenue that was the same one taken during a forceful carjacking Sunday morning, police said.

Police said they tried to stop the car but that it sped away. During the pursuit, the car got "substantially ahead" of the police.
Officers saw the car lose control near Emerson and 18th Avenue North and begin to roll. All three occupants of the car died at the scene, authorities said.

Minneapolis police secured the scene, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was asked to conduct an independent investigation of the incident.
Squad video was captured and will be used by the BCA as part of the investigation, authorities said.
