5 Shot In North Minneapolis Thursday: Police
Investigators believe there was an argument that turned physical and at some point, shots were fired.

MINNEAPOLIS — Police are investigating after five people were shot in north Minneapolis Thursday. Officers from the city's Fourth Precinct responded to reports of shots being fired in the 3400 block of Girard Av. N. just before 5 p.m.
Numerous callers reported shots were being fired and that multiple people had been hit.
Responding Minneapolis police officers found four victims who were then transported to North Memorial Medical Center.

Officers were later told about a fifth victim who arrived at North Memorial Medical Center after being transported there by a private vehicle.

At this time the injuries are not reported to be fatal, police said.
The preliminary investigation indicates there was an argument between a group of people that turned physical and at some point shots were fired, authorities said in a news release.
Officers canvased the area looking for evidence and video surveillance. The Crime Lab responded to process the scene and investigators are conducting interviews.
