799 MN Schools On This Week's COVID-19 Outbreak List
The updated list of schools on the COVID-19 outbreak list is down slightly from last week.
TWIN CITIES, MN — A total of 799 Minnesota schools are on this week's COVID-19 outbreak list. That's down from 806 schools that were on last week's list.
A school is considered to have an outbreak when it reports five or more confirmed cases of the virus in students or staff who were in the building while infectious.
Schools on the list may not have ongoing transmission, according to MDH officials. Schools are removed from the list after 28 days without any new cases.

The news comes as the state Department of Health said Thursday that Hennepin County resident is the nation's second confirmed case of the new omicron coronavirus variant.
