MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A second person has been charged in the Minneapolis double homicide that took the life of a baby and an adult male. Rashad Austin was charged with aiding an offender, accomplice after the fact in the shooting of a baby and a 20-year-old man, Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman announced last week.
Austin, 25, of Minneapolis helped Jquan McInnis, who has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of Gustav Christianson II and seven-month-old Jayden Redden on Oct. 9.
According to the criminal complaint, Austin was in a car with McInnis immediately before and after the two victims were shot. McInnis had several documents, including a ticket for transportation out of Minneapolis after the shooting and he asked Austin to get rid of the documents and Austin made efforts to do so, according to a news release.
