Amber Alert: Police Believe Girl Took Bus With Man To Twin Cities

Authorities believe she took a Greyhound bus from Kansas City to the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro area July 4.

UPDATE: Amber Lynn Rewerts-Schiavoni was found in South St. Paul and is safe.


TWIN CITIES, MN — Police in Kansas are seeking the public's help in locating a missing girl who may have taken a bus to the Twin Cities metro area. On July 4 at about 1 p.m., Amber Lynn Rewerts-Schiavoni, 13, was seen leaving her home in Lenexa, Kansas with a 22-year-old man.

The teen told a parent that she was walking to the mall. She was later seen with the 22-year-old at a Greyhound bus station in Kansas City, Missouri.

Authorities say Dechon White, 22, is a suspect in the case. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, according to police.

Anyone with information about Rewerts-Schiavoni and her whereabouts is asked to call the Lenexa Police Department at (913) 477-7301 or the Crime Stoppers tips hotline at 816-474-TIPS.

An Amber Alert has been issued for the teen.
