MINNESOTA — Several Minneapolis and St. Paul neighborhoods are among the most expensive places to live in Minnesota, according to 2026 rankings from Niche.
Niche’s 2026 cost-of-living rankings compare places using factors that include housing costs, income, taxes, and everyday expenses such as groceries and gas.
Here are 10 Minnesota neighborhoods that landed among the state’s highest-cost places to live, according to Niche:
Macalester-Groveland, St. Paul
King Field, Minneapolis
St. Anthony Park, St. Paul
Downtown East, Minneapolis
East Harriet, Minneapolis
Summit Hill, St. Paul
Bryn Mawr, Minneapolis
North Loop, Minneapolis
Linden Hills, Minneapolis
Fulton, Minneapolis
Lowry Hill, Minneapolis
East Isles, Minneapolis
Lynnhurst, Minneapolis
Edina
The state’s highest-cost neighborhoods are in older, established parts of Minneapolis and St. Paul, often near lakes, parks, restaurants, schools, and major job centers.
The ranking does not mean these neighborhoods have the highest home sale prices in every case. Niche’s cost-of-living ranking looks beyond housing alone and includes broader costs tied to living in an area.
But the list shows how much of Minnesota’s highest-cost housing market remains centered around Minneapolis, St. Paul and the west metro.
