This was the second time they have been targeted in recent weeks, the group said. Staff said that their building was vandalized with similar graffiti on May 9.

"Despite this targeting, we are grateful that all of us here are safe," MCCL said in a statement to Patch.

"We are taking precautions going forward, and are undeterred in our pro-life work. We appreciate prayers and support for MCCL and other pro-life groups during this time."

The MCCL was founded in 1968. The organization contends that "human rights belong to all human beings, regardless of their age, size, ability, health, or dependency."

Tensions surrounding the abortion issue in the United States have risen dramatically since a leaked draft from the Supreme Court showed that at least five of the nine sitting justices are set to overturn Roe v. Wade.
