Arrest Made In May 2021 Shooting Death of 9-Year-Old Girl
The 9-year-old girl was an unintended target of a gang-related drive-by shooting in Minneapolis, authorities said.
MINNEAPOLIS — Agents with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Wednesday arrested a suspect in the May 2021 shooting death of 9-year-old Trinity Ottoson-Smith of Minneapolis.
D’Pree Shareef Robinson, 19, was arrested in Minneapolis and has been booked into the Hennepin County Jail on probable cause of second-degree murder. Robinson will make his first appearance in Hennepin County District Court this week, according to a news release.
Trinity was jumping on a trampoline in the backyard of a friend’s home in North Minneapolis on May 15, 2021, when she was shot. Trinity died 12 days later at North Memorial Health Hospital.

Trinity was an unintended target of a gang-related drive-by shooting, according to the BCA.
"As we said during the Spotlight on Crime news conference last August, families deserve to know who did this to their children." BCA Superintendent Drew Evans said in a news release.
