Attempted Child Abduction: Minneapolis Cops Look For Suspect

The suspect attempted to abduct a pre-teen girl in Linden Hills, according to police.

MINNEAPOLIS — Minneapolis police are investigating the attempted abduction of a pre-teen girl in the area of 41st Street West and Chowen Avenue South that occurred this evening at approximately 5:30 p.m.

The suspect description is a white male, 50 to 60 years old, 6 feet tall, thin build, with a long black beard down to his chest. The suspect was wearing a flat cap “newspaper-style” hat, black jacket and peach pants, police said.

Officers canvassed the neighborhood for evidence and witnesses. The suspect description has been shared with neighboring law enforcement agencies, according to a news release.

The city crime lab responded to the scene to collect evidence and investigators are checking for surveillance video.
