Is It Just Diarrhea or Something More Serious?

Diarrhea can be a symptom of a larger, more serious problem with your pet. Liver disease, kidney disease, hormonal disease, and certain types of cancer can all present with diarrhea as the only sign of illness. Often, blood tests are recommended when dogs and cats have diarrhea to help determine if a more serious disease is the cause.
