Can't Make This Up: Seahawks Sign Former Vikings Kicker Blair Walsh

You just can't make this stuff up. On Thursday, the Seattle Seahawks moved to sign former Minnesota Vikings kicker Blair Walsh.

The Vikings signed Washington Redskins kicker Kai Forbath last year after Walsh struggled to make extra points and field goals.

Walsh, 27, spent his first five NFL seasons in Minnesota, where he converted 133 of his 158 field goals (84.2 percent) with a career-long of 56 yards.

Walsh left the Vikings having the worst extra point conversion percentage among kickers that season.

Pressure to cut Walsh began after the kicker missed a 27-yard field goal to beat the Seahawks in the playoffs two seasons ago.

The Seahawks say Walsh will add competition to the team's kicker position that has featured Steven Hauschka for the past six seasons. In 2016, head coach Pete Carroll said Hauschka “had gotten into a little stink with kicking the extra points," with six extra point attempts either being missed or blocked.
