Children Witnessed Parents Die In Murder-Suicide: St. Paul Police
Five children in St. Paul — between the ages of 2 through 9 — watched their father kill their mother before killing himself, police said.
ST. PAUL, MN — St. Paul police say a 33-year-old man shot and killed the 30-year-old mother of his children before turning the gun on himself Tuesday. Their young children were present in the home where the shooting happened, and one of the children dialed 911 to report the shooting, authorities said.
Yia Xiong killed Ka Lor before killing himself, according to police. There are no additional suspects being sought and police are investigating the incident as a murder-suicide.
Yi and Ka were in a relationship for approximately 10 years and had five children together, according to investigators. The children were ages 2 years old to 9.

The children are currently safe with family and received after-care resource referrals to the St. Paul Survivor Resources and the Midwest Children’s Resource Center, according to police.
St. Paul police are asking that anyone experiencing domestic violence to seek help from organizations such as Saint Paul Intervention Project at (651) 645-2824.
