"Minneapolis is home to me," Green said in a news release.

"I’m looking forward to taking on this role and making sure that equity is built into the fabric of the City’s operations. We need to ensure that race isn’t a determining factor in any measurable outcome."

"Advancing race equity is a fundamental cornerstone of our work as an enterprise, and Tyeastia Green has the experience to drive us forward," said Mayor Jacob Frey.

"She brings a demonstrated track record of strong leadership during her time at the City of Burlington, which will allow her to jump right in and support our continual efforts. We are thrilled to welcome her back to Minneapolis as she takes on this role."
