MINNESOTA — Twenty-one more people died from the new coronavirus, the Minnesota Department of Health announced Thursday. The state's death toll from the virus is now at 200.

The number of deaths each day continue to trend upward in the state.

Thursday marks yet another new high for the number of deaths in a single day from COVID-19 in Minnesota. The previous daily high was reached Wednesday, with 19 deaths.

Total positive cases: 2,942

Total cases requiring hospitalization: 712
