Domestic Violence: Suspect Arrested in Fatal South Minneapolis Stabbing
The suspect arrested is believed to be related to the victim. Police will speak with community members about domestic violence Sunday.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — One man is dead following a fatal stabbing in Minneapolis Saturday. Officers arrested an adult male at the scene in connection with the stabbing. The arrestee is believed to be related to the victim.
Officers from the Fifth Precinct responded to a domestic disturbance at 2100 block of 3rd Avenue South at about 10:51 p.m. on Jan. 14. The 911 caller reported an assault inside of an apartment.
When officers arrived at the address, they located an adult male victim with a stab wound to his chest. Officers provided first aid to the victim until paramedics from Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) arrived. The victim was pronounced deceased by paramedics.

The arrested man was transported to Minneapolis City Hall to be interviewed and will be booked into the Hennepin County Jail.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Officer will release the name of the deceased, as well as the cause and nature of his death.

Police say there are no other suspects being sought in this homicide. The case remains under investigation by the Minneapolis Police Department’s Homicide Unit, according to a news release.
Officers from the Fifth Precinct will be in the neighborhood canvassing overnight and will return during the day to speak with community members about domestic violence. Officers will be handing out information from the Domestic Abuse Project.
