Philadelphia Eagles Trade Quarterback Sam Bradford to Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings traded a first-round and fourth-round draft pick to the Philadelphia Eagles for quarterback Sam Bradford.

The Minnesota Vikings have acquired a new quarterback.

ESPN reported that the Philadelphia Eagles traded quarterback Sam Bradford to the Vikings for a first-round pick in 2017 and a conditional fourth-round pick in 2018.

However, the fourth-round pick may become a third or second-round pick depending on how much success the Vikings have with Bradford.

If the Vikings go to NFC Championship game this season, the conditional fourth-round pick in 2018 becomes a third. If the Vikings win the Super Bowl, it becomes a second.

NFL.com reporter Ian Rapoport said the Vikings called the Kansas City Chiefs about quarterback Nick Foles, looked at backups from the Baltimore Ravens, but ultimately found the Bradford deal the most appealing.

In college, Bradford won the Heisman Trophy as a redshirt freshman for the Oklahoma Sooners. Adrian Peterson played with Bradford on the Sooners that year before entering the NFL.

Bradford was the first overall pick in the 2010 NFL draft. He won NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2010.

The deal with the Eagles suggests that Vikings personnel aren't confident that quarterback Teddy Bridgewater will be ready for the 2017 season.

The Vikings placed Bridgewater on injured reserve Wednesday, a day after the third-year quarterback tore his ACL and dislocated his knee at practice.
