Alessio Bax, a Leeds Competition Gold Medalist and 2009 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient, will perform some of the greatest solo piano repertoire including Brahms Ballades Opus 10, #1 to 4; Après une lecture de Dante: Fantasia quasi Sonata by Franz Liszt; various Preludes by Sergie Rachmaninov and "Liebesleid" and “Liebesfreud”, both arranged by F. Kreisler from compositions by Sergei Rachmaninov. As Time Out New York wrote, “Bax ravages the keyboard, remolding the ivories into sonic sculptures that light up an auditorium."
