With the Christmas orchestra and the "No Rehearse" Christmas Pageant, this service is a favorite of area families. An additional identical service will be added at 4:30pm to add more options for families. Children may arrive 15 minutes early to dress up as a shepherd, angel, lamb or wise one and join in telling the Christmas story. Nursery care is also provided.
New this year are the six giant Spirit Figures, representing the archetypal characters present in the birth story central to Christian scripture. The figures are wondrous, surprising and full of small stories. They were constructed during a community art-making project this Advent season inspired by the vision of Chris Kliesen Wehrman, Director of Theater Ministries. Wehrman led the congregation in construction of the 14 foot figures entirely from found and donated materials.
A 10pm Candlelight Communion Service will feature harp and flute, choir, carols and a meditation by Pastor Tyler Christiansen. Childcare will not be provided at the nighttime service.
