The Internal Revenue Service is hosting a Fresh Start Open House at its Taxpayer Assistance Center in Minneapolis at 250 Marquette Ave. This special Saturday event is particularly intended for people who want to make a fresh start by taking steps to have federal tax liens withdrawn. The IRS recently adjusted its policies concerning liens by allowing for the withdrawal of a lien when a taxpayer enters into a direct debit payment agreement. Taxpayers can also get help with tax preparation (if income is less than $49,000) IRS notices, account questions, copies of tax returns and more.
