Special Education and Intercultural Competence Conference

The Master of Arts in Special Education program at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota presents the first annual Special Education and Intercultural Competence conference (SPEDICc). Each year the SPEDIC conference will engage participants in areas critical to special education and intercultural competence.

This year's keynote presentation, Addressing Disproportionality in an Age of Accountability and Reform: Envisioning Teacher Education as Part of the Solution, will be given by Dr. Stanley Trent. Dr. Trent's engaging dialogue will allow attendees to walk away from the conference with culturally responsive teaching tools to use immediately in the classroom, as well as skills to incorporate state standards into teaching practice.

The event is free.  Please register for the event at www.smumn.edu/spedic. Check in at the Event Center main lobby. The Keynote Presentation begins at 10:30, followed by a Q&A session at 11:30.
