Explosion Traps 3 In East Bethel Home

Three men had to be rescued after a house that was under construction blew up Monday morning, authorities said.

EAST BETHEL, MN — Three men were hospitalized after a house that was under construction exploded Monday morning in the city of East Bethel, according to authorities.

Just before 8:30 a.m., Anoka County emergency crews responded to reports of a blast at the 2800 block of Viking Boulevard Northeast.

Emergency personnel began rescue operations after discovering that three people were trapped in the home. One man was taken by helicopter to the Hennepin County Medical Center, and the other two were driven there by ambulance.

Their conditions are unknown, the Anoka County Sheriff's Office said.

The East Bethel Fire Department, the State Fire Marshall’s Office, the Anoka County Fire Investigation Team, and the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office are investigating the cause of the explosion.
