Nicollet Open Streets

  • 11:oo a.m. to 5:00 p.m
  • Nicollet Avenue between Kmart and 46th Street.

Nicollet Avenue will be closed to all motorized traffic (cars and buses) and the street will be open for biking, walking, dancing, yoga, jump roping, art making, frolicking, and more

Three neighborhood associations, including Kingfield, Lyndale, and Whittier, are partnering to bring their residents together to enjoy Nicollet Open Streets for the 3rd year.

Enjoy Nicollet Avenue car-free while on foot or by bicycle from 11:oo a.m. to 5:00 p.m. between Kmart and 46th Street.

Open Streets is organized in collaboration with the Minneapolis Bicycle Coalition and focuses on promoting healthy living, sustainable transportation, local businesses, and community connections.

Art at the Center: 75 Years of Walker Collections

  • Time: 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

In 2015, the Walker celebrated the 75th anniversary of its founding as a public art center dedicated to presenting and collecting the art of our times. Curated by the Walker’s executive director Olga Viso and guest curator Joan Rothfuss, this exhibit looks back on 75 years of art at the Walker. Learn more here.
