Four-Month-Old Assault Victim Dies in Minneapolis

Officers have taken an adult male, believed to be the child's father, into custody.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A four-month-old died in Minneapolis Saturday after sustaining injuries from an assault.

Officers from Minneapolis' 2nd Precinct, along with University of Minneapolis police, responded to the 1900 block of Franklin Avenue SE just before 5:00 p.m. Saturday.

Officers arrived at the scene to find Hennepin County Paramedics treating a four-month-old for injuries stemming from an assault, according to a news release.

The infant was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Police are not looking for any other suspects in this case. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the name of the victim.
