Gopher Football: Hennepin Co. Reviewing U of M Investigation

The Hennepin County Attorney's Office said it is reviewing the report prepared by the University of Minnesota's Office of Equal Opportunity.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office has released a statement regarding the sexual assault case in connection to players on the University of Minnesota football team. The statement comes days after the Gopher football team ended their boycott of the Holiday Bowl.

We are in receipt of the report prepared by the University of Minnesota’s Office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action on the conduct of some of members of the Gopher football team. We are reviewing that report. We will have no further comment at this time.

A criminal investigation in Hennepin County this fall resulted in no arrests or criminal charges in the case. However, the university's office of Equal Opportunity and Affirmative Action filed a report last week that recommended punishment for 10 Gopher football players, including expulsion.
