HandsOn Twin Cities 2015 Volunteer Expo

Spread the love through volunteering this Saturday, Feb. 14th!

Join local non-profit volunteer resource center HandsOn Twin Cities this Saturday, Valentine’s Day, for their annual Volunteer Expo! From 10 am- 3 pm at the Mall of America Rotunda and courts there will be education about and awards for volunteerism, 90 + area NPOs, and opportunities to participate in speed volunteer activities. Help your community and spread the love through volunteering!

Find the perfect volunteer project for you, your family, or your group. Choose from one-time projects or longer-term commitments. You’ll find it all at the Volunteer Expo!

Visit with representatives from 90 area non-profit organizations and find out how you can get involved in a good cause and benefit your community.
You can also pick up a “Give a Hand, Help Your Heart” brochure to learn about some of the health benefits to volunteering!

Participate in ten “speed volunteering” activities and attend the Be the Change Awards Ceremony.

Some of the “Speed Volunteering” activities will include: assembling welcome kits of cleaning supplies for low-income families in North Minneapolis receiving housing aid through Alliance Housing Inc, tracing patterns for baby clothes for families with infants in need through Bundles of Love Charity, creating snack packs for an after school program through Loaves and Fishes, and making survival kits for youth experiencing homelessness who are served by Hope 4 Youth.

Be the Change awards will be given to volunteers who have shown exemplary service and commitment in the areas of: Youth and Education and Economy/Basic Needs. Be the Change award winners will be introduced at 1:00 pm on the Rotunda stage. Be the first to meet this year’s winners!
