Hayden Has 'Big Shoes To Fill" In Replacing Berglin
The race to replace Kingfield's state representative may kick off next week.

In the wake of his sweeping victory for the seat of state Sen. Linda Berglin, DFL Rep. Jeff Hayden knows "I have big shoes to fill."
Hayden took 69 percent of the vote, of 2,400 cast, in the special election to fill the District 61 Senate seat. Despite , Green Party candidate Farheen Hakeem only attracted 22 percent of the vote.
"I didn't take a single vote for granted and ran a robust campaign," Hayden said. "From knocking on doors, making calls, and attending community events, I've been working hard to speak with as many residents of our district as possible and earn their support."

Hayden's campaign said he may resign his seat in the state House of Representatives as early as next week, kicking off a race to replace him. The Hakeem campaign hasn't returned a call requesting comment.
