Hennepin County Jail Inmate, 26, Found Dead In Apparent Suicide

The Hennepin County Jail inmate was found unresponsive during the course of routine cell checks at approximately 11:15 a.m. Saturday.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A 26-year-old man in custody at the Hennepin County Jail died Saturday of an apparent suicide attempt, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office announced. The inmate was found unresponsive during the course of routine cell checks at approximately 11:15 a.m. Deputies immediately began CPR. The inmate was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics at approximately 12:10 p.m.

The man had been in jail since the evening of May 30, 2017 after being arrested by Minneapolis Police Department for an outstanding warrant out of Wisconsin, according to a news release. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name and cause of death of the individual.
