Historically Snowy: Twin Cities Has 4th-Snowiest Winter On Record

MINNEAPOLIS — The 2022-2023 winter season is officially the fourth-snowiest in Twin Cities history.

As of Jan. 20, there have only been three seasons in the Twin Cities with more snow, according to the National Weather Service:

  1. 1991-92 with 63.1 inches
  2. 1983-84 with 59.6 inches
  3. 2010-11 with 54.1 inches
  4. 2022-23 with 52.1 inches

The seasonal average in the metro is 51.2 inches.
