House Fire Takes Life Of Linden Hills, Minneapolis Man

Daniel Eugene Fobbe was described as a devoted husband, beloved father, grandfather, brother, friend, coach, neighbor, and musician.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Daniel Eugene Fobbe, 56 years, died Friday, April 7, in a fire at his home. Fobbe lived on the 4100 block of Beard Ave South in the Linden Hills neighborhood of Minneapolis.

A memorial service will be held for Fobbe at 3:30 p.m., Friday, April 21, at the Basilica of St. Mary, with a reception to follow.

A GoFundMe page describes Fobbe as "a devoted husband to Diane Mach, beloved father, grandfather, brother, friend, coach, neighbor, musician."

The funds raised will help the family deal with the expenses from the fire and the funeral.

"Dan greeted each day with his run to pick up the newspaper and coffee, a routine that will be greatly missed by his neighbors. His vigor for life was apparent and his inner joy was evidenced by his smile and the twinkle in his eyes."

Assistant Fire Chief Bryan Tyner told the Southwest Journal that the cause of the fire is unsolved.
