I-94 West Closure Postponed This Weekend Due To Rain

Good news, motorists; the scheduled closure for a section of Interstate 94 west in Minneapolis and Brooklyn Center has been postponed.

A closure for a section of Interstate 94 west in Minneapolis and Brooklyn Center that was scheduled to be closed this weekend has been postponed because of rain. The closure of I-94 west from Interstate 394 to Interstate 694 has been moved to 10 p.m. Sept. 8 to 5 a.m. Sept. 11.

Closures of the eastbound lanes from I-694 to I-394 are scheduled for Sept. 15-18 and Sept. 22-25. The closures are needed while crews pave the freeway. The closures are weather permitting.

These closures are part of the I-94 Minneapolis to Brooklyn Center project that started March 20. The project is resurfacing nine miles of freeway, repairing 50 bridges and repairing all ramps from Nicollet Avenue in Minneapolis to Shingle Creek Parkway in Brooklyn Center.
