ICE Agents Are Illegally Swapping License Plates To Obscure Vehicles In MN: Report
Federal officials said the Department of Homeland Security would not discuss its vehicle practices when asked about license plates.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Immigration and Customs Enforcement vehicles operating in Minnesota have repeatedly used swapped, obscured, or missing license plates, practices that state officials say are illegal under Minnesota law, according to an investigation published Thursday by the Minnesota Star Tribune.
The newspaper reviewed more than 100 license plates tied to federal immigration enforcement vehicles and found that nearly 60 percent were not registered with the state, while another 11 percent showed irregularities such as expired tabs or plates registered to different vehicles.
The Star Tribune reported that agents have been observed driving vehicles with plates registered to unrelated luxury cars, reusing the same plates on multiple vehicles, or operating vehicles with no plates at all.
