Island-Wide Blackout Won't Stop MN Twins Game: San Juan Mayor
The Minnesota Twins are playing a two-game series in Puerto Rico against the Cleveland Indians this week.
SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO — An island-wide blackout affecting Puerto Rico won't stop the Minnesota Twins from playing their second game in San Juan against the Cleveland Indians, according to one official. Despite the entire electrical system in Puerto Rico collapsing Wednesday, San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz says all emergency systems at Hiram Bithorn Stadium have been tested and are fully functional.
"The game will GO ON. Nothing will stop us," she wrote on Twitter.
