MINNEAPOLIS — Judge Peter Cahill Wednesday granted a request to delay the state trial of the three former Minneapolis police officers charged in George Floyd's death.

Thomas Lane, Tou Thao, J. Alexander Kueng all face charges of aiding and abetting second-degree murder and aiding and abetting second-degree manslaughter.

Both the prosecutors and defense attorneys asked to have the state trial delayed until the federal trial against the three officers wraps up. The three officers face federal civil rights charges in Floyd's death.
