KARE 11's Boyd Huppert Diagnosed With Incurable Cancer
Boyd Huppert has won dozens of awards for his beloved "Land of 10,000 Stories" feature on KARE 11.

MINNEAPOLIS — Boyd Huppert, who has won dozens of journalism awards for his beloved "Land of 10,000 Stories" feature on KARE 11, has an incurable form of cancer.
Huppert was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma — an uncommon blood cancer — the news station announced Sunday.
"Yeah, it's a punch in the gut," Boyd told his longtime colleague, Randy Shaver. "You try to bargain a little bit, you try to think it's not real, then acceptance came pretty quickly."

There is some good news. Thanks to early detection, Huppert will "get extra years."
Huppert was first hired by KARE 11 back in 1996.
