Karl-Anthony Towns Signs Super-Max Deal With Timberwolves
The massive deal comes as Minnesota faces serious team turmoil.

MINNEAPOLIS — Karl-Anthony Towns is going to be in Minnesota for a long time. The Timberwolves' All-Star center has agreed to a five-year, $190 million super-maximum extension.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski broke the news Saturday night.
The massive deal comes as Minnesota faces serious team turmoil. Earlier this week, Wolves All-Star forward Jimmy Butler reportedly asked to be traded ahead of the fast-approaching season.

Wolves coach and president of basketball operations, Tom Thibodeau, and team owner Glen Taylow appear to have competing visions on how to handle Butler's request.
Thibodeau’s general manager, Scott Layden, had been shutting down trade inquires for Butler in recent days, and Taylor has demanded that Layden not only take calls on potential deals, but reach out to initiate conversations, league sources said. This is all really...unique. https://t.co/RwoI9RSvGz
