Let It Go: Frozen's Idina Menzel Kicks Off 'Super Bowl Live'
"Whoever said 'The cold never bothered me anyway' has never been to Minneapolis," the singer Tweeted Friday.
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The 2018 Super Bowl festivities officially kicked off Friday at the Verizon Up Stage with Idina Menzel performing the song "Let It Go" from the Disney movie "Frozen." During soundcheck, the Tony Award winning icon tweeted that "Whoever said 'The cold never bothered me anyway' has never been to Minneapolis." Native Minnesotans quickly pointed out that temperatures reached the upper 40s Friday, which is rather balmy for this time of year.
Super Bowl Live opens daily on the Nicollet Mall and lasts through Super Bowl Sunday on Feb. 4.
Saturday, Jan. 27 will feature a flavor of Minnesota's vibrant hip-hop scene with performances by deM atlaS, Brother Ali and Prof.
