Man Dies after Driver Intentionally Hit Him with Vehicle: Police
The victim was struck on Saturday and died Monday. The suspect is currently in jail and is awaiting additional charges.
MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A man has died after a motorist intentionally drove into him, according to Minneapolis police. Officers from the city's Third Precinct responded to a report of an adult male that had been struck by a vehicle on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 11:08 p.m. on the 2900 block of Portland Avenue South.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located a 37-year-old male in the street and started providing medical care to him. The victim was transported by paramedics to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) with significant injuries. The male victim died on Monday at HCMC.
Officers arrested Tristen Elijah Baier, 20, a short distance away with the help of witnesses. Baier was booked into Hennepin County Jail for probable cause first degree assault, according to a news release. Baier is currently in jail and is awaiting additional charges, as the victim is now deceased.

Investigators from the Minneapolis Police Department’s Traffic Investigation and Homicide Units are continuing to investigate the incident. At this point in the investigation, it has been determined that Baier intentionally struck the victim with a vehicle, according to police.
