Man On Electric Bike Hits Snowplow, Is Later Arrested For DWI
Police say the operator of the bike hit the blade of a snowplow in Minnesota before fleeing the scene. He was later arrested for DWI.
File this in the "ouch, that will leave a mark" files. A person riding an electric bike drove into the path of a pickup with a snowplow blade on Highway 9 and First Avenue Northeast in New London on Jan. 24.
The operator of the bike hit the blade then fled the scene. He was arrested a short while later and arrested for DWI, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Minnesota’s DWI law stipulates that it is a crime to drive, operate, or be in physical control of any motor vehicle anywhere in the state while:

- under the influence of alcohol, a controlled substance, or a hazardous substance (knowingly), or any combination of these;
- having an alcohol concentration (AC) of .08 or more at the time or within two hours of doing so;
- having any amount or the metabolites of a schedule I or II controlled substance, other than marijuana, in the body; or
- if the vehicle is a commercial motor vehicle, having an AC of .04 or more at the time or within two hours of doing so; or
