Man Killed In Fight At Minneapolis Cub Foods: Police

Investigators believe the fight took place both inside and outside the store before officers arrived.

MINNEAPOLIS — One man died and another was arrested after a fight outside a Cub Foods store in south Minneapolis, police said. At about 11 p.m. on Sept. 25, officers were dispatched to the grocery store on the 2800 block of 26th Avenue South.

When they arrived, officers found an injured man on the ground in the parking lot. He was transported to Hennepin Healthcare, where he later died, according to a Minneapolis Police Department report.

Investigators said they believe the victim and the suspect were fighting both inside and outside the store before officers arrived, but they don't think weapons were used in the brawl.

Authorities tracked the suspect to a nearby residence, where he was arrested, the report said. Police said the suspect was then booked into the Hennepin County Jail on probable cause manslaughter.

The victim’s identity, along with the cause of death, will be released by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office.
