Memorial Day 2017: Minneapolis Lakewood Cemetery Service

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — The annual Memorial Day ceremony at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis will begin at 10:30 a.m on Monday, May 29. Guests at this year's service include Robert Robinson’s gospel quartet, the Minneapolis Police Band, as well as a dove release. Stephen E. Osman, a retired historian with the Minnesota Historical Society, will be the guest speaker.

Osman managed Historic Fort Snelling for more than three decades. He is a scholar of Minnesota’s role in the Civil War and the U.S.–Dakota War. Organizers note that while chairs are available, seating is limited. All are welcomed to bring their own blanket or chair. Lakewood Cemetery is located at 3600 Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55408.
