A study produced by Forbes found that Minneapolis is the 15th best city in country to raise a family in. Two cities in neighboring states also ranked high on the list; Madison, Wisconsin ranked 12th, and Des Moines, Iowa ranked 11th.

  • the percentage of owner-occupied households
  • percent of population under 18
  • average commuting delays
  • violent crime rates per 100,000 inhabitants
  • local school quality
  • cost of childcare by state

According to Forbes, Minneapolis' strong housing market is big plus for families, while the high cost of childcare is one of the city's weaknesses.
