A number of key political offices are up for reelection in Minneapolis in 2021.

MINNEAPOLIS — This fall, Minneapolis residents will vote in several important local elections. Among the offices on the ballot are the mayor and city council seats.

Here are all of the offices that are up for reelection in Minneapolis in 2021:

  • Mayor
  • City Council
  • Board of Estimate and Taxation (two at-large seats)
  • Minneapolis Park Board
    • District seats (six seats)
    • At-Large (three seats)

  • Candidate filing: July 27 — Aug. 10
  • Early voting period: Sept. 17 — Nov. 1
  • Early registration deadline: Tuesday, Oct. 12
  • Suggested deadline to apply for a mail-in ballot: Tuesday, Oct. 19
  • Election Day, deadline to return mail-in ballot: Tuesday, Nov. 2. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m

Frey was first elected as Minneapolis mayor in 2017. In January, Frey announced he will be seeking reelection.

Other mayoral candidates who've launched Minneapolis mayoral campaigns include community organizer Sheila Nezhad, former state representative Kate Knuth, and legal mediator Aj Awed.

The official candidate filing period begins July 27.
