Minneapolis Animal Shelter Pet Of The Week: Meet Maddox

Maddox the cat is described as "a total love bug" who is "very relaxed."

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Meet Maddox, an approximately 5-year-old neutered male domestic shorthair cat. He came to the Minneapolis Animal Care & Control (MACC) shelter as a stray nearly a month ago. The shelter said Maddox "is a total love bug and is very relaxed."

MACC is a full-service shelter. In 2015 1,291 animals were adopted to good homes last year or were transferred to rescue groups. In all, roughly 4,000 animals or more come to Minneapolis Animal Care & Control every year. By law, we keep all stray dogs and cats at least five (5) days to allow their owners to search and reclaim them. However, if the original owner is not found, animals are made available for adoption to new homes.

  • Cats: $50 ($100 non-resident)
  • Dogs: $50 ($250 non-resident)
  • Exotic Bird: $400 (small) to $1000 (large)
  • Fowl: $10
  • Reptile/Amphibian: $75 (small) to $300 (large)
  • Small Animal (rabbit, ferret, etc.): $50
