Minneapolis Cop Shoots, Kills Man After 'Domestic' Incident
The shooting occurred early Sunday morning after police responded to a domestic incident.
MINNEAPOLIS — Authorities say a Minneapolis police officer fatally shot a man over the weekend. Just after 3 a.m. Sunday, officers responded to a report of a "domestic" incident involving weapons on the 3100 block of Thomas Avenue North.
Authorities later learned that shots were fired in the residence and no one was hurt. Some of the people in the home were able "escape" before police came, police said in a news release.
Officers arrived at the scene and got the people outside to shelter and safety. Other officers tried to contact the suspect inside the home.

After extensive discussion, the suspect came outside. An armed confrontation occurred and the suspect was shot by police. Officers treated the suspect, who was transported to North Memorial Medical Center by paramedics, where he died a short time later.
Officers are not injured and the BCA is handling the investigation. Body worn cameras were on and activated during this incident, officials said.
