Minneapolis Eatery Shuts Down Just Days After Opening
"We'll admit it. Old Man Winter punked us," the seasonal sidewalk restaurant declared Thursday.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — "Friday, March 30th is our season opener!" Sea Salt Eatery wrote optimistically on its Facebook page last week. Perhaps the restaurant tempted fate, because by April 2, it was forced to close up shop.
Sea Salt — located steps from the Minnehaha Falls — is a seasonal, open-air café that requires patio weather for business. It may technically be spring, but in the Twin Cities temperatures remain hovering around the teens as snow and ice continue to clutter the sidewalks.
"We are admitting defeat and shutting down for the winter. AGAIN," Sea Salt declared Thursday.

"We’ll admit it. Old Man Winter punked us. He usually throws some snow around and that’s fine…but this year he added sheets of ice in front of the restaurant and now below zero temps? Come on, this is NOT what anyone ordered."
The eatery now plans to reopen Thursday, April 12 "no matter the weather."
