Minneapolis Police Investigate 'Attempted Child Luring'

A young child was outside playing when the incident happened, according to police.

MINNEAPOLIS — The Minneapolis Police Department is investigating a child luring incident they say occurred Sunday on the 3800 block of 52nd Street West. Preliminary information indicates that around noon, a young child was outside playing.

The child’s parent had gone into the house momentarily. When returning outside, the parent saw a man with his arms extended toward the child, according to police. The parent yelled and the man left.

The parent reported seeing the vehicle in the area shortly before this incident. The suspect in this case is described as a white man in his 40s, black or gray hair, black goatee, wearing a dark or blue jacket.

The vehicle is described as a gray or silver vehicle with either front bumper damage, or a partial front bumper, according to a news release.

Officers canvased the area searching for witnesses and surveillance video.
